LG 3 Wall Charger vs LG G8 Wall Charger

I purchased a LG G8 and it uses the new Type C charging cable. The wall charger is a different model number than the one for my LG 3. Can I use my wall charger from the LG 3 with one of the Type C cables. I keep one at work and was hoping I could just replace the cable.

I don't know the G3's charger, but I expect that it's one of the old, slow-charging ones. In which case it will work fine with a USB A-to-C cable, but it won't fast charge (which may or may not matter to you).

Thanks. Yes the G3 charger is one of the older slow ones. The phone was 5 years old. I don't care how fast it charges. I thought my G3 charged quickly and really don't notice that the G8 charges that much quicker. Just wanted to be sure that was the only difference.
