First of all, to the mods...please forgive me if this post is in the wrong place...I'm new here
I have an LG Eve (2 of them actually) ... yes, its an Android phone
The issue is this in short ... it connects to a B/G WiFi with WEP just fine. However, my 2nd WiFi zone is N/B/G setup as WEP and it (the Eve) will not allow me to select/set that connection as WEP, it keeps trying to force me into WPA2 and will not, of course, connect to a WEP Zone that way.
Details:
LG Eve
BlackBerry 8900
D-Link DI-624+ (B/G, WEP Only) "Ryeburn" on Channel 11
Apple Airport Extreme (N/B/G WEP Only (although it will do WPA2 and others)) "Ryeburn.N" on Channel 9
BB Connects to either WiFi Zone just fine.
LG Eve connects to D-Link beautifully.
LG Eve sees Apple WiFi Zone BUT thinks its WPA2 and won't let me change it to WEP.
When I try to create a new connection (with the Apple Zone set to NOT broadcast its SSID) ... I enter the Apple Zone name, tell it that it is WEP and save. When I try to connect or re-open to enter the WEP key, I see that the connection has been stored as "Open".
Thoughts, anyone?
Thanks,
Ro'Khan
