Hey all....
Has anybody ever had an LG flashing tool destroy a phone after a successful firmware flash?
Long story short...
Had two G Stylos. One Katana with secure boot error, other was running stock 6.0. Couldn't get my PC to read the Katana device, so did entire driver setup over again, and allowing my 6.0 to act as disc installer. OK no prob, 2014 flash tool is finally getting somewhere. I tried flashing v10i or v10j with the flash tool. OK, 0-100% without hiccups. The phone never rebooted after flashing, and is completely unresponsive. No recovery, no charging screen, no power, no boot, only shows up in Windows device manager as a Qualcomm loader device. Battery, no battery, every button combo, holding, tried everything. It's dead.
I'm no stranger to flashing LGs, done many. I've had plenty of bad flashes, corrupt firmware, blah blah, but never left with something that I couldn't fix and not completely unresponsive.
I'm just curious... No big loss to me at all, but kinda bummed. Two perfectly good phones and one left that will go into boot mode but registers as a failed MTP device.
Is there any way to fix these things? Lots of tool links here are now dead, but is there something I'm missing? Did flashing earlier firmware do this? Unlock OEM?
Thanks in advance!
