Root LG G Stylo VM Bootloader

I've been searching for quite a while now, and been coming up short. Very close, but always a step behind. I am on Virgin Mobile and just got the LG G Stylo, 5.1.1, LS770v5. I have rooted it just fine, that didn't take but a moment. But I am having no success with the locked bootloader. It's quite possible I am simply missing the proper thread for this. Is there a thread detailing how I can unlock this thing and install TWRP? Yes, the option in the Dev Settings is checked, but to be honest, that looks more cosmetic than useful, as it has not changed anything at all. When I used Flashify to flash TWRP, I get a security error, and then the phone just boots as normal. Minus a recovery now, I'm certain lol.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I'd really like to get a custom recovery/ rom on this new deviece.

Pretty sure the Boost and Virgin mobile Stylo's don't have a bootloader unlock, the setting in developer options is pretty much just for show on those two variants.

Thanks for the response. That's unfortunate. I found a method on the official LG site, but it is for a EU model only. Anyone get this to work on the US versions? Eh, I'm thinking no since I'm finding nothing. :(

did you back up your stock recovery with flashify before you tried to flash TWRP?

Lol..yes i did! However...flashify apparently removes such things upon uninstall. So now i have no backup. Yes, that part is my own fault, i was hasty and didn't remove that backup to someplace safe (ie...NOT the handset). So now i am looking for a stock recovery :/

I know it doesn't help you right now but use rashr next time. It doesn't delete your backups when you uninstall it.

Good to know, will do that right now ty. I'm still searching for a stock recovery and a work around for the locked bootloader.
