Help Lg g2 att shuts on and off

I have a art lg g2 I got off a friend for free but it keeps shutting on and off. When I put it in download mode it kicks in but then shuts off and restarts again. I noticed the back cover was bubbled and I believe it to be the battery so I removed the cover and the battery didn't look right. Any advice? :confused:

Sounds like a defective battery. My dad's was so badly swollen it was pressing on the back of the LCD screen causing discoloration. However, once it was replaced, he's back to more than 2 days of battery life (per his usage). The swollen battery also caused things like, he couldn't turn on th ephone until he plugged it in. Once he plugged it in and turned it on, it would stay on. Also, caused the camera operation to lag so badly it would take several seconds to focus and take a picture when it used to work very quickly. However, all these symptoms were cured when the battery was replaced.
