LG Optimus 2.2.1 downgrade to 2.2 question.

Ok you probably have heard about this but alot of optimus m's that came with 2.2.1 stock have problems (it sometimes freezes and reboots randomly). Im here going apeshit thinking of ways to stop this because I really dont want to pull teeth with metro about getting a new phone....

If I downgraded to 2.2 does anyone know if the problem will stop?

Stock 2.2.1 does not downgrade to 2.2. As for the freezing/rebooting problem, it's part of the phone. It comes that way from LG. You can try rooting and using a custom rom to see if that helps but it almost always doesn't. Beyond that the only fix at this time is giving it back. If the dealer gives you a headache, go to corporate. Some stores are aware of the problem and won't even give you a problem. LG is also aware of it but still hasn't fixed it.

I have a bit of a problem, I rooted the phone and deleted most of the stock apps (boingo, myextras, etc.) and I know they wont take it like that so is there a way I can get them all back?

I think you can use LG Updater (available on the LG site under mobile support) to return your phone to stock. Once installed, click Customer Support and choose Recovery Phone. Note that USB Debugging is disabled when using with this software.

If it doesn't let you use the option, you'll have to go the LGNPST route which has a little more to it.

I tried the upgrader, it keeps saying my software is up to date. I guess I might just have to get another phone and rough it out with this until then...

Hard part is I had an huawei ascend and they suck and im scared to get another optimus because from what I see its all luck of the draw with these phones.

I missed a bit. Finally found the post that gave the info. It works sometimes but not all.
......

1. Take out the battery!! And leave it out!!
2. Open the LG Update Tool software.
3. Click "Customer Support" >> "Recovery Phone"
4. Select the model number LGMS690, look under the battery and type in the serial number.
5. It Will open a new window, and search for the phone.
6. Replace battery and turn it on.
7. Connect the USB (with it on) and click "Retry" to search for the phone.

This should reinstall a FRESH flash for the phone and return it to OEM.

This will not work if you can not get USB connection to the phone at all.
If you can't bypass the update message, as I mentioned you can use LGNPST. Your phone is not a total loss, just takes 30 minutes. I'm trying to find the post with the LGNPST instructions for you as well.

To get them back u can go to the metroapp store and redownload them

i wouldn't worry so much about the apps as the build info as far as software is concerned. plenty of rooting changes your software build info. check that. if that isn't the way it should be then look for ways to revert back. i'm sure there's a stock rom out there...

not being able to downgrade to 2.2.1 is a feature that prevents you from downgrading to the OS since it contains code used by the z4root exploit

as for the missing apps, you can redownload these from the metro store...

... people really need to learn to swim before they just jump right in.

the LGNPST should be a last resort, if you would have taken a backup with titanium or done a nand backup, you wouldn't have such issues.

if you are still using LGNPST with no success, you can forcibly "brick" your phone with the 2.2.1 > 2.2 downgrade and then recover it.... but I won't say how. I don't want anyone just attempting it and then bricking for real.

also, there is a scheduled update for this issue that should be released within a week or so, but once again, this is metro we're talking about. could be months later for all we know...
