LG optimus droid phone wont read my sim card

hi guys so i really really need help. ive had my droid phone for bout a yr or so now and this morning whenever i went to go turn it on my phone is saying that it doesnt have a sim card in it when it does and ive tried taking it out waiting 30 seconds and putting it back in, ive tried taking the battery out and that still doesnt work, i thought it might have been the sim card but i put it in my bf's phone bc he has the same phone as me and everything is still on the sim card and his phone reads it but mine wont read any sim card at all and i dont understand why bc it was fine last nite. if anyone could please help me if you have any idea how to get it to work please email me asap at shainaj300@hotmail.com. thank u!
