LG Optimus V versus LG Optimus Slider

Hi forum,
I just can't deal with the data problems I'm having with the Optimus Elite, so I need to find a replacement, and due to circumstances, I need to do so fairly cheaply.
I'm curious, based on experience, if there is an advantage of the V over the Slider or vise versa, or is the only difference the slide-out keyboard?
Further, I am wondering, if I swap out to a phone I buy on eBay or craigslist or some such thing--do I need to do so at the end of the billing cycle-and do I have any risk of losing my $25.00/mo plan? That would be a huge bummer.

Thanks in advance.

Optimus V's are so cheap nowadays they are like less than 40 dollars on ebay. I would get that but if you want a physical keyboard get a slider they are likely pretty cheap too.

To answer the question, I believe the Slider has a slightly faster processor and slightly more memory, in also has Android 2.3 as opposed to 2.2 in the V.

On the flip side the Slider is larger (more bulky) and people have complained about the location of the SD card (battery compartment), and that the build quality isn't as good. In particularly, people have complained about the battery not fitting tightly on the Slider (leading to power issues if the battery shifts position) and the micro USB plug being loose (charging issues).

If you want a physical keyboard, the Slider is probably the better buy. If you don't care about the keyboard, the V has been a favorite of many users because it has been a solid device. It also has had a strong developer community for ROMs.

Thanks guys!
This is just the information I was looking for.
The keyboard itself is kind of negligible as I do pretty well using Swiftkey.
Mainly, I was just curious if there were a performance or usability advantage of one over the other, or if one had a stronger customization community than the other.

Thanks again!

Both of those phones are obsolete. The Optimus Elite is a current phone and seems to be on sale. I'd go with that.
