Help LG Optimus Zone 3

To save internal memory space I disabled many of the apps on my phone when I first starting using this phone in 2017. Apps that I knew I wouldnt use that came on the phone from factory. Up until the end of 2017. I would disable and enable the play store and play store services. There wasnt a problem doing this initially. Ive only had a couple downloaded extra apps that I used on a regular basis. When I wanted to search for a potential app download I would enable the playstore and services app and everything worked fine. After the 1st of the year. For some reason and I dont know why enabling and disabling the playstore app didnt work anymore. Playstore stopped functioning properly when enabled. All I saw on the screen was a blank grey screen with the circle that kept on saying loading but never loaded. Another change is I used to be able to download videos off of fb both friend uploaded videos and fb live videos by tapping to start them then tap and hold until the save video option would appear. Well since the 1st of year that save video option doesnt appear anymore. Is there something I can do to fix all of this.

When you disable an app you're not saving any storage space, all you're doing is rendering it inactive. A app that's enabled or disabled will still take up the same amount of space in the storage memory, it does not get magically get compressed or reduced in size. Disabling does stop the app from getting loaded into RAM however as disabling an app does prevent the app process itself from being started up. Keep in mind RAM (Random Access Memory) and storage memory are two separate types of memory that perform different functions.
From your description it basically sounds like you've been micromanaging your phone's system resources to the point where some things aren't functioning properly any more. That's generally a bad idea as the Android operating system is better at doing this than most phone owners. I'd suggest re-enabling all the apps you previously disabled and then be sure to let everything get updated properly. Keep in mind especially regarding system apps that some work in conjunction with each other so by creating a situation where some services are running with their current versions, there are others that are not, that results in a non-stable system.

Should I do a system reset too.

Try getting your phone all updated and see if it's working normally again. If no, there are others to try first, a Factory Reset is something to do when other less drastic measures don't work. If it does get to that point, be sure you've safely backed up all your files, photos, bookmarks, and things, and make sure you've got a record of your login info (name/password) for Google account and any social media services before doing a Factory Reset as you need to go through the process of doing a complete restore.

On my phone there are two options for reset..A system settings reset and a full factory reset.

My phone has two options for reset if it comes to that. One is the full factory where everything gets erased. The other is not everything gets erased and only resets system settings that have been changed by the user back to original settings.

I have enabled the apps I disabled. Turned phone off then on again. The play store still isnt working. It wont load.

Try going into your Settings >> Apps menu. Tap on the 'Google Play Store' app, tap on the 'Force stop' button, then the 'Clear cache' button. Do the same for the 'Google Play services' app, and so the same for the 'Google Play services for Instant Apps' app if there is one.
Now confirm your phone has a good WiFi connection and open up the the Play Store app to see if it's working again.

Since writting the last reply I was able to get the playstore to work. The only way it would work was to go to app manager. Once there playstore and play services where located under downloaded apps. I uninstalled the updates to both apps, cleared data, and cache. I cant remember whether i rebooted the phone buf the playstore worked again and downloaded an app. That was yesterday actually.

Today I try going into playstore again and its not working. I go to app manager and playstore and services are back in the downloaded area and the option to uninstall updates for both app is thier again. Did the same thing and playstore wouldnt work again. Why would it show the uninstall updates option if i did that yesterday.

At this point you might want to do a 'Hard Reset':
http://www.hardreset.info/devices/lg/lg-optimus-zone-3/hardreset/first-method/
Be sure you have safely backed up your personal files and things like browser bookmarks first. And don't just assume your files are backed up, check the backup(s) out by actually looking them over manually.
Once you've done the Reset and restored your files, I'd strongly recommend you be more judicious about disabling apps, at least when it involves items relative to the operating system and fundamental services.

Yeah I realize I messed up. Lesson Learned. Could I manually download an update to playstore and manually install it through a APK file?

Not knowing just which apps and services you disabled previously, a Hard Reset on your Zone 3 is probably the best option. Your goal should be to get the Play Store app working properly again so installed apps get auto-updated through it, manually side-loading APKs is generally not a good strategy.

Why is it not a good idea. Also how do I back up my my phone properly. I dont want to lose anything.

I misread your comment before. The Play Store app being a system app, you won't be able to uninstall it but you could try to, and if a dialog box comes up referring to uninstalling updates to the app do so. This should return the app to an earlier version. Restart your phone and see if the Play Store app is working again. And if it is, let it update itself.

I was able to get on a very good wifi connection earlier and fix the problems I was having. I was able to update the Playstore and some apps and problems solved. I didnt have to use the apk I downloaded. Im a happy camper . Thanks for all the help.
