LG Stylo 3 Plus unable to receive incoming calls or text

I have a LG Stylo 3 Plus through T Mobile. Occasionally it will stop receiving incoming calls and texts. When I call the phone from another line from the calling end all seems normal, I hear a ring and after a bit the call goes to voicemail, but on the Stylo nothing happens not even a notification of a missed call or voicemail. I have found that restarting the phone or cycling airplane mode on then off will resolve the issue temporarily but have yet to find out what is causing the problem. During the times these issues are happening calls and texts can be made from the phone and all other data services work on both LTE and WiFi.

If anyone has had this issue and knows of a solution replying with the information or link to would be much appreciated.

A few questions.

How often is "occasionally"?)
Does this happen regardless of location? Or does it happen only when you are home? (for example).
If it does happen, do you have to cycle airplane mode to restore service or will it eventually come back?
When incoming service is restored, are you notified of texts, voicemail and/or missed calls?
What's your signal strength like when this happens?

It sounds like a weak signal issue, although it could be a SIM card going bad.

- The issue happens 2-3 times a week
- It has happened both at home and away
- Cycling airplane mode has been the way we resolve the issue never waited to see how long until or if it will resolve on its own, we find out that the issue is happeneing when the person trying to call then calls one of our other phones or once the phone is restarted for other reasons.
- Once the incoming service is restored all of the texts and voicemails flood in, there are no indications of missed calls just any voicemails that were left.
- The signal strength is solid 3 othe rlines in the house none having any issues.

I have not tried to have the sim card replaced I may see if I can get that done without having to pay the full $25, during my research so far I have found a simmilar issue for the AT&T version of the phone and the solution there was to go into setting and disable the AT&T drive mode bloatware so I will probably be uninstalling or disabling apps 1 at a time to see if ai can find anything that causes this to happen.

I wouldn't expect missed call notifications when the phone was out of service as the calls would never reach the phone - they'd just go straight to voicemail.

SIM cards do fail, so that is a possibility. And this can result in symptoms like you describe - I had something very like this a few years ago. I would hope that the carrier would replace a faulty SIM without charge, but the fact that they charge $25 for a SIM tells me they have no shame about ripping customers off.

I wouldn't take the AT&T stories at face value. The last three times at least I have received a new SIM from AT&T the "technician" (and I use the term in the broadest of senses) improperly provisioned the card and it required a call to the support center to get it resolved. I got the impression from the support rep that this is a fairly common issue with them. Their training is either sub-par or their techs are.
