If you get a version from another company aka T-Mobile. You can change the firmware. If you are using cricket, you would need firmware for us celluar for that phone. You would have to have the boot loader unlocked and sim unlocked. I have a Motorola Z2 force from T-Mobile. I unlocked bootloader and sim, then flashed ROM. Check on XDA Forums for more information about any specific phone.
