LGMS323 won't stay connected to internet

My LGMS323 phone connects to the internet but disconnects shortly after. It will open Gmail, Google search, etc. but disconnects after a short time. I have tried connecting to the internet at several locations and the phone does the same thing everywhere.

Also, the keypad used to do searches in Google and Youtube will not come up or do so for a couple seconds only.

Also, when I tap the Youtube icon the message ""Item not found" comes up. Youtube is listed in my Apps list. Only four apps, which I never use, are listed in Update Center. Thanks for any replies.

You have to update your date and time because the FCC updated the GPS Compliance network with older phones will no longer work with the new gps system and wont update the time this.maybe causing your problem

Given that the specs for this model are pretty dated -- 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage -- running a long unsupported version of Android it's not surprising that you're having connectivity issues at this point. There's not going to be a lot you can do to correct things, it's a matter of hardware and software limitations. It might be time to think about upgrading to a new or at least newer phone as this kind of problem is only going to increase as time goes on.
But in the meantime, are you having these issues when using WiFi or mobile data, or both?

Upgrading my phone is probably the best thing to do.

I use Metro PCS. All I do is make calls, text a tiny bit, and access the internet one half hour per day on average.

The cheapest phones Metro PCS is currently selling are the Fox Miro and Motorola E6. Both are $50 and $80 out the door with all the fees included. Both have 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Would these phones meet my needs? Are there better phones available in this price range? I don't mind paying a little more if other phones a little above this price range have significantly faster processors. Thanks.

I replaced the battery, and now the phone is working fine. I replaced the battery with a spare I had because the battery in the phone was draining very quickly, so I knew it was worn out. I want to keep the phone for now because my uses are so basic.

Google search, Google maps, Gmail, etc. are all working fine now, but I am still getting the "Item not found" message when I try to install the new version of Youtube. When I tap the Youtube icon I get the message "A new version of Youtube is available. Install it now from Google Play". Then when I tap on "Install Now" I get the message "Item not found". I cleared the cache and data for the Google Play app, but I still get the message "Item not found" when I try to install Youtube.
