I came across a thread on this forum where someone posted some wrong info about the use of li ion batteries. Couldn't find that thread now.

How to prolong li-ion batteries

here are some key points-
1. li-ion battery doesn't have memory. so you don't have to discharge completely before charging.
2. Due to protection circuit battery is not overcharged. but as a precaution don't do it intentionally. Also a partial charge upto 80-90% will be better than a full discharge.
3.As a result of point 1, no need to worry about charging your phone by USB. It is completely safe.

Charging li-ion batteries

It is also recommend to switch off the portable device whilst charging.
but that is simply a hassle IMO. I bought my phone to USE it. However not using it whilst charging will be a compromisable solution.

All very true. In addition its actually better to have phone on when charging as (in a way i cannot explain due to my own technical limitations) the charging is optimised when phone is on.

ok so a top-up charge from 80 - 100 wont damage the batt? thats good to hear as i seem to always arrive at my house with 70% and then go out with 50% .. so then have to carry charger.

gave the link already. however they are in text form for some reason. will correct them later.
