Sixty today is like 40 a generation ago--there's still plenty of time to do a reboot career-wise if you're so inclined. I do wonder though, as rootabaga implied, about the area of music sales being something viable these days. Could you perhaps expand on it a little and tell us exactly what would be involved?
Anyway, generally speaking, if you're 60+ you're still considered young-ish in today's world, so go for it!

It's Boston. The music scene is huge here. That said, the established people are probably pretty locked in.
Just do it. I'm 55 and made a huge career change and couldn't be happier!

Unforgiven has a good point. Boston is a music City; Teaching, Learning, and until recently performing. (Unless you count the streets)
There are stores here where you can by music for your pets. CDs are not dead in Boston.
