Help Lightning Browser

zuben el genub

Extreme Android User
Question -

I have the browser set to delete everything on exit including history. When I open the browser the next time, history is still there and I have to clear it manually. I've emailed the maker, but he's stated that he doesn't always answer emails (student).

Am I missing something?

Before anyone starts in on their pet browser -

I've tried most of them and didn't care for them. Some had too much stuff included. I won't use the ones on the phone. I don't believe in "one ring"

Maybe the browser you are using is in Beta version, it means that you shouldn't expect too much from it.

"Please contribute code back if you can. The code isn't perfect."

Maybe someone can dive in there and fix it. It is open source. :)
You could make it worse ;)

Personally I wouldn't trust a browser like this for online banking or shopping websites.

Back to the OP question, it could be a read/write permission issue on some Android devices. Recent versions like Marshmallow requires you to expressly give an app certain permissions so that it could work correctly.

I don't do stuff like that on the phone anyway. I use a Linux box and a browser with plenty of NO. I don't install any retail stores' apps.

If I absolutely need to, I will write an email to myself, and get info from email rather than site.

Since the stores and social sites want the stuff, I don't and won't.

I will look up who is calling a ball game, measurements for something I intended to buy but forgot to write down, etc.

You just can't control a browser on the phone the way you can with a computer. I live with NoScript and Tab Permissions.

BTW - the only 2 permissions Lightning wants are storage and location. Storage it has, and I bought the app. No location. I don't WANT local results in most searches.
