First, a little understanding of my situation. I suffer from two things. One: tinitus. Not an extremely harsh case, but enough to where, even when I'm out camping in the middle of nowhere, I can still hear a high pitched whine in both ears. Two: my brain doesn't shut down easily. Severe cases are full blown insomnia, lesser cases just take a person forever to fall asleep.

These two things in combination make it so I have to lay, in bed, awake, for long periods of time before I even start to feel my eyelids heavy, even though my body says it's time to sleep. Time can range from 45 minutes to 2 hours. Not fun, or restful.

I got the new MyTouch 3G Slide, and decided I needed to so something to help my sleeping patterns. I already use my phone to wake me up, let's see if it can put me to sleep. Searched "White Noise" in the market, and found this dandy little app.

For a solid week now, I have been falling asleep in less than 30 minutes. I know because the app has a wonderful little "sleep" feature, which will turn the noise off after a designated amount of time.

There are several different "locales" to choose from, including "The Monastery", "New York Skyline", and "Night at the Beach". Each locale gives several sound options, some of which are downright obnoxious, to very calm and soothing background effects. It even has little animations at each locale.

Another feature is the built in alarm clock, though if you use a different one (i.e. sense, stock android clock, etc.) it doesn't interfere.

Great app + good nights rest = happy and productive Phandroid. Here's wishing you sweet dreams.
