Likely moving over VZ

I currently have T-Mobile and my wife has VZ. My contract is ending and so we can get a family plan and save about $60 a month since neither of us actually use the minutes much. We will have to pay for the data, since between us, we typically use around 5GB or more a month between the two of us.

A couple questions
1. My company blocks practically every site, so I will tether my android phone while at work to check gmail and stuff. Is it true that's costs extra with Verizon?

2. I have a Galaxy S and I despise it. I previously had the G1 and loved it. but the Galaxy S has so much crap loaded on the phone, that it crashes all the time, it just shuts off for no reason even with a full battery, all sorts of crap. So I would like to stay with Android rather than go to Apple, but are there any "clean" android phones with Verizon? I haven't had much luck rooting phones in the past, so I'd rather just find a phone with a similar profile (or smaller) to the Galaxy S, but without all the BS programs they force on the handset that I don't want

3. My contract with T-Mobile doesn't end until July, so I would have to pay a $100 termination fee with T-Mobile, so what it means is that I can wait a couple weeks / month if there is some new great phone coming out that I should wait for. I can't wait until July because I've just had it up to here with this Galaxy thing dying on me all the time

1. Yes, you'll have to subscribe to their tether plan. (it's $20 for an additional 2GB and that allows you the ability to tether). Verizon Wireless Tether Options

2. Verizon has the Galaxy Nexus (only 2 "pre loaded apps" and you can disable them with ease). It's pure Google. No skins, no bloatware. It also has ICS 4.0 which is nothing short of absolute awesomeness. (yeah, I carry the device so i'm a bit in love.) I would be confident that you like the G1, you'll love the Galaxy Nexus.

3. The Galaxy Nexus is pretty new. But with Android, there's always newer products launching. Good thing about the Nexus, it's Google's flagship device, so you're good for a while with updates and goodies.

Here's the splash page: Galaxy Nexus

Here's a good review: Verizon Galaxy Nexus review | The Verge

And here is our sub forum for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus: Verizon Galaxy Nexus - Android Forums

Hope this helps!
