Limit to the number of Contacts that can Synch with Gmail?

I have 9,557 Contacts.

It seems as though I cannot add any new contacts from my phone.... I can only add new contacts from the web (Gmail and/or Google Voice).

Is there some Limit to the number of Contacts that can Synch with Gmail?

(I have a Motorola Droid on Verizon.)

Umm.

I hate to ask but how the hell do you have 9557 contacts?

I mean DAMN.

According to most studies the average human can understand and comprehend about 150ish people (see monkey sphere).

Do you literally KNOW and understand all those 9557 people and their lives?

If so, I am in awe...

P.S. I have no idea, but I imagine you could be getting close to their internal memory limits depending on how many text messages you have.

OK....

I admit it.

I get around.

But that's a much longer story, for a much different "forum"...

LOL

Anyway....

You think it's internal memory?

Of curse, it's also very slow to do anything involving a contact lookup too.

I think that it could very well be the internal memory.

Remember it has 256mb for applications, whereas contacts are NOT that big of files, 9557 adds up...

And it would be very slow doing a search of contacts I would imagine.

I am always deleting people to maintain an average of about 3,000 contacts. I thought I was insane. 9,000 +
Holy S.
