line across display after 2 months

Well after only having mine for 2 months, powered it on last night to discover a line in the display, about a 1/2 inch up from the bottom (tablet held vertically). Sent a email to Hisense service, lets see how fast they respond.

Are you rooted? If so, you might have by accident checked off one of the choices under "Developer Options".
 
Was rooted and was using xboxexpert's ROM. I put the tablet back to stock but line is still there. Only thing checked under developer options is USB Debugging.

Still no response from Hisense's service email and by phone no matter when I call it's always "all agents are busy".

To update- after a few emails, Hisense service finally responded a week ago by attaching a RMA form in their reply. filled it out emailed it back along with a scanned copy of my sales receipt (as they requested in the instructions) but a week later I have had no response.

Also as reported over on XDA forums, you are not able to order this tablet online at WalMart now. There is still stock in stores but no one knows if the tablet has been discontinued.

I just contacted a rep on Friday re: charging issue. They agreed to send a replacement charger/cable instead of me having to send the unit in. I'll report on how it goes.
 
Well after almost a month I finally get the RMA from Hisense to return my Sero 7 Pro for repair of the line on the display. This notice about scratches is announced twice in the form:

"Please make sure that your tablet is well protected when packaging to ensure that your tablet arrives to our warehouse safely by wrapping the tablet securely with bubble wrap or foam to protect the screen if the tablet is received with any damage including scratches the warranty is automatically voided.


If your tablet has any scratches on screen prior to shipping please note the warranty is voided even if they were there before the issue with the tablet began.

Please allow 7-10 business day after your Tablet has been shipped to our warehouse for repair."

Really?!? If there is a scratch on the screen the warranty is voided?!? Glad I put a screen protector on mine the first day then.

I received the charger/cable yesterday afternoon after a follow-up call last week. It seems they got messed up and were going to send me an authorization to ship the tablet so they revised their records on 10/24. It seems to make a much better connection and I don't have to fool with the cable position. However, my USB OTG cables (2 different ones) don't make continuous contact and Nexus Media Importer loses the directory. I'll fool with it a bit more before deciding whether to return the tablet as I can use other means to get data onto my SD card.
