Thinking of putting Lineage on my old LG US996.

Anyone know if this will be minus all the crap that LG put on this device. I'm mostly trying to avoid LG updating the phone AT ALL. Limiting (as much as possible without flashing Graphene) Google's "surveillance" would also be a plus.

For those that may not know, the US996 is totally carrier unlocked. With the correct SIM card I can run on any carrier available in he USA.

A custom ROM completely replaces the manufacturer's ROM. So no, you won't have any LG user interface customisation or any of the apps LG bundle. Nor will LG be able to send you any more updates.

With Lineage Google apps are optional, so if you want to you can try without, see how that works for you. You can always add them later if you decide there is something important to you that you are missing.
