If i send messages to my connections, are they private or will everyone be able to see them?

If you're talking about text messages on a cellphone, only the people who can see that cellphone can see the messages. If you're sending a message to a whole group of people, all of them can see it.

I believe that messages on LinkedIn are private ..

.. having said that, I forgot my password so haven't actually been on there in years

.. still get about a dozen e-mails a day, usually from people I never even heard of
