How did 2 of the same first names get linked under my text messages but under contacts it’s seperated? The second Lisa has a last name. It’s like it’s buried under my text messages because you have to go to More in the upper right hand corner then see contact details then the second Lisa with the last name shows up under the first Lisa. So does that have to be manually put in? The first Lisa says linked by Sim Card and the second Lisa says linked by Google. Under the second Lisa it says connected via Google with a keyboard icon also to add an important detail my sons contacts got linked to my phone.

Sounds like you have the same contacts on your google account and your simcard and or phone. This is one cause of problem like this. Another is someone logging into their google account on your phone and syncing their contacts that or having another sim card in and doing the same thing. It gets picked up by google and backed up. There is also a linking option that allows you to link your contacts with accounts such as WhatsApp and Google Duo <-- this one is a big one. I allowed it once and now I have half dozen extra linked Duo accounts to my contacts, Duo for which I never make use of.
Thank you for your response so my son could be logging in on to his google account etc and that’s why this is happening? But how does that explain the one name Lisa( no last name) where the other Lisa( with a different last name) buried under the text messages of the first Lisa( no last name).. would the person have to manually put in the second Lisa under the first Lisa’s text messages? Or if someone else logged on to their google or SIM card it would be added on to the first Lisa line highjacking? In the contact list itself the names show up seperate the first Lisa that was entered before the second Lisa was entered ?

Sounds like same number just associating it within your txt application. I don't think it's being hijacked, but I have not looked at the phone to see for sure. Sometimes android is screwy like that. I have 7.0 on my daily driver and when i punch in numbers to dial sometimes the call logs will show the full number instead of the name which should be shown.
