I've got a buddy who runs a small business who wants to host his own email server. I've gone over the options with him and We've come to the following conclusions.
1.) No Exchange server. The licensing and config is far more than he needs or wants spend.
2.) I don't want to walk him through a CentOS/Dovecot setup because he wouldn't understand it and I'd be either constantly getting support calls or administering his setup myself (which I do not want to do).
3.) Needs to be fairly straightforward to add users and administer.
There used to be a Linux package called Netmax that would have fit the bill, but it's no longer under development. Can anyone think of any comparable appliance-like software package that will run on medium level hardware that a fairly bright, but technically challenged person could setup and admin?
