Linux Base System

Hi folks,

Just recently, my tab's CPU has been peaking at 60% load and this is being caused by the Linux base system. It never used to do this. I guess it must be the result of an app that I have installed. Can anyone shed a light on this?

Thanks.

Just go into the Menu, Settings, Battery, and look at the apps to see what's using the most battery, it's probably at or near the top. Have you tried uninstalling the most recent app?

A sure fix is to factory reset the device to a clean install. You just need to make sure you figure out the cause before resetting. If not, and it's an app, then installing that app will cause the same issues.

Hi bfksc,

Thanks for your reply.

Because the CPU peaks at 60%, it is unclear which app is the culprit. I prefer to use Gsam Battery Monitor rather than the stock battery monitor as the former gives much more detailed info. I was using it in conjunction with Watchdog (CPU Monitor) but it's like shooting a moving target. So, I'm now trying the app called Diagnosis, which enables me to monitor my tab when I'm away from it. To be honest, I guess the CPU peaks are not a major problem. It's just that when something starts happening 'out of the blue', it gets my attention.
