Linux

Careful, They're sharp!!
Howdy all. I saw a while back on XDA a dev had played with putting Linux on an Eris (I think). I tried looking for it a few minutes ago and don't even see a forum for the Eris anymore. At the time the hardware couldn't handle it. So what I'm wondering since we have dual core phones, more memory etc. has any one tried it again or even be interested in doing it?

I run ubuntu on my desire. There is a free ubuntu install guide on the market gives you everything you need

May even be a link to an xda thread in my signature

I think I have all you beat running Linux on a mobile device.

I have a HP Touchpad that runs:
WebOS 3.0
Android Gingerbread (CM7)
Mac OS Classic via Basilik that accesses the host file system & print.
Native Ubuntu (not via VNC or or anything) with full multi-touch gestures in Linux.
The X11 Window manager is using the system's native video frame buffer.
Ubuntu natively accesses WebOS's EXT3 filesystem, full sound,etc.. It is a real miracle of a device.

And I even have it running Mame in that iPad arcade bluetooth cabinet aka retro 80s.

Next stop... ICS w/ CM9.
