Help List of built in microphones in android devices?

Im wondering where can i find specification about the internal mics used in android devices? There must be certain types used by different companies. I assume the quality of microphones not the same in cheaper phones than high end. And probably tablet mics different from the phones?
Btw Im working on a university project using android devices for recording sound. All answer appreciated!

I should imagine that sort of information might be in the manufactures' bill of materials for each phone type that they make. Good luck trying to aquire it.
