Listen to music through hd connected to router

Hi guys

I have a Galaxy S2 and the rest of the family have ace's.

I'm about to install a duel band gigabit router now that i have a smart tv.
The new router has 2 usb ports which i'll connect up my printer as well as my external hard drive so i can access all films and stuff on everything.

My question is.....can you listen to music that's on the external hard drive on your phone by streaming it directly through the router via wifi without having to download it first onto your phone?

look into ES file manager in play store. is free, and has support for network connected devices. i use poweramp and it plays everything except videos. mx player works well for video. give that a shot. you will need the ip address for you device connected to the router.

If the router uses SMB (aka SAMBA, or Windows Shared Folders), ES Explorer should be perfect.
