little numbers on my apps

Except for my email, no little numbers show up on my facebook, whatsapp, and so on icons when I have new events or messages. I only receive notifications on the top bar of my phone. How can I get the apps to show these numbers?

I don't think you can - it's not a general android feature you can enable for any app you like.

There are apps which can do this for some applications. For example if you use Nova Prime (the paid version of Nova Launcher) and add the (free) TeslaUnread add-on you can do this for SMS, several different email apps, and Google Voice, but not at present for the apps you name. But that only works when running that specific launcher.
