Live CD

Hi guys. I need some help. I'm no stranger to Linux, but i'm no pro either. I'm trying to make a live CD and I just can't get it. I've had one before, but that was 7 or 8 years ago and I didn't make the CD. I'm looking for either knoppix or mint. Really something that can run on a machine built around XP. Very dated hardware. I don't know if i'm supposed to download an image file or what and i'm not exactly sure if there's a certain way to burn it. Any help would be appreciated.

Just burn the iso image to cd CD as ISO .
Dont copy the iso and make a data CD .
I think there is a burn an image to disk option .Use that .
Thats it :)

If you have a spare USB drive and if your BIOS supports booting from USB drive them you can use
http://www.linuxliveusb.com/
and use Live USB drive
