Live wallpapers for windows

I have really grown to love live wallpapers, but seeing as I do use my computer more often than my phone, Id love to have live wallpapers on my windows screen. Any suggestions? IM sure this had to have been thought of before!

.gif files? though the quality is crap, and they lag, at least on my system.

Windows Vista did have Dream Scenes, which is the same idea as live wallpapers. You could have a look at: http://www.dreamscene.org/
Never tried them though as I like to have my PC performing at its best.

Not at all. Dreamscenes are putting video files as your wallaper, live wallpapers are much more than that. They're like full cosmetic apps for your wallpaper

I recall reading once a way to set a screen saver as a desktop, you may wish to goolge that.
