Location App Idea

I've done a lot of searching and I don't think this app exists yet and I was wondering what everyone else thought as to whether it was a good idea or not. Basically it would be a "My Locations" app where you could save the address of places you have searched or have been to before so when you wanted to get directions to there from your current GPS location you could do it without having to search for it again. Also, similar to Shazaam, when you were somewhere you could just "save as current location". It would be structured similar to your contacts so you could have a picture and have categories like restaurants, bars, etc. Let me know what you guys think.

I need a simple GPS app that will simply save locations as a text file and/or a kml file onto the SD card for later downloading onto a computer so the data can be included into a document. I need something that is simple to use with very few button clicks, but I've not been able to find anything quite like that.

However, a group of college students here in town asked for ideas to develop an app as a project, so I submitted mine. They've taken it on and hopefully soon I'll be able to play around with it and put it to use.

In the meantime, if anyone knows of an app like that, I'd appreciate it if you'd point me in the right direction.

I use the app Google Maps Address Book. Once you save a location and want to bring it back up, it does a google map search for the address you saved. From there, you can launch nav.

Would starring the locations or businesses in Google Maps work for you? I could see these addresses getting mixed in with too many other locations if you star things for other reasons though.
