Help Location not updating

For a while now my location has not been updating. For instance on my weather app, it keeps me at my home location no matter where I go. And usually when I get into my phone I get a quick message saying that it failed to update my location but offers no reason or solution. Hopefully someone here can help me,

Hi, can you just check that the location services are switched on, go to "Settings", "More" then "Location Services", and check that "Access to my location" is set to on. Phil

yes, I did that the day I got my phone and have checked to make sure it is still set properly and I see that if I go into google maps it will show me at some location I was recently at and then move me back home. so obviously it doesn't do this until I go into google maps. Also my geocache gps works fine when I get into it, thanks
