Help Lock Phone during call.

I want to do something very simple. make a call with my earbuds in lock my phone and put my phone in my pocket.

What happens is on my Galaxy s7 edge if I take a call and lock the phone using power button, the home button still unlocks the phone. URGH so when I put the phone in my pocket most of the time kills the call.
I tested it today, if I lock the phone during a call I can still unlock it with a singl push of the home button.

Try the power button once during call.

That is what I am doing thinking it will lock they phone but doesn't seem to help

You're phone is always unlocked when you make a call. It has to be to work.

Have you looked in the Play Store for apps that will lock your phone during calls?

I found this, Call Screen Lock:

It adds an extra step before being able to use the phone during a call. The apps last update was for Lollipop though. If it doesn't do what you want you may find others.
