Lock screen ads

None of the system apps produce this, so it is something that you have installed that's responsible. If you can figure out what it is and uninstall it then the ads will stop.
Cool. Can you tell us what it is? The information may be useful to others.
It's amazing how many flashlight apps turn out to be dodgy...

You don't need an app. There's a Flashlight quick tile already.
I did have a favourite (TeslaLED), but that hasn't been updated for many years and doesn't work with the Pixel 2.

There was (once ) one call 'TinyFlashlight+LED' that had a ton of options like more code and shake-to-light options but that got drastically changed to make ppl DL an buncha plugins. Still a nice app when ya block the ads that are in them

I moved from a Droid where there was a 'shake to light' gesture to activate the flashlight. I miss that dearly as I inspect homes for a living and use the flashlight often. It made it very easy as I carry tools in other hand.

It would be really positive if Google would open up the squeeze function to let you do choose what it did. Would make it much more useful. There are things you can do, but they need root.
But I'm sure you could use Tasker to add a "shake to light" gesture.
