Lock screen applications disablers/changers - Are they all broken?

Hi everyone,

I've recently tried several lock-screen disablers/changers:

* mylockforandroid
* SmartLock
* No lock
* Executive Asisstant
* Lock 2.0

And a few others. It was my impression that something is inherently broken with all of them: Lock screens would sometimes work as advertised, but sometimes they would revert to original.

For example, right now I am using Tasker to disable the lock screen, and while it works, mostly, now and then it keeps reverting to original lock screen. Now I am kinda suspicious if one of the original applications I installed failed to uninstall properly.

Anyone had similar experience with lock replacement apps? Is there a way for me to see who changes the lock screen? Or at least inspect the scheduled tasks? I'd rather not do a complete hard reset of the device =\.

Thanks!

Na mate i found the same thing, very intermittent mate.

Strange... Is it a bug in android OS? I thought that version 2.1 supports disabling/replacing lock screen.

What about version 2.2? Are there problems there too?

I've been using myLock since the end of January, and it works consistently for me. I recently upgraded to 2.2 on my stock N1 and it still works. No intermittent issues on my phone (knocking on wood).

I'm the dev of Smart Lock.
If it doesn't work for you let me know.

Something to note is these are all background services, if you are running low on memory Android will kill them and then restart them when there is memory available.

I've gone to great lengths to makes sure Smart Lock still works well when being killed and restarted, but if you have specific problems let me know.
