I have the lg optimus and in the text messages there is a way to push down on a single message and lock it what does that mean? Does it mean its locked from the person you sent it to?

Welcome. I don't know why nobody has responded yet.
It means that you cannot accidentally delete the message. You could lock a few important messages and then tell it to delete all, and the important ones are protected from deletion.
