locked out of my lg

Hi I lent my friend my LG android phone and she's doesn't know how she managed to lock herself out. the phone had a pattern password on it which has now disappeared resulting in the phone being stuck on the locked screen with no pattern lock to draw to unlock the phone... any ideas?
