Locked out of my phone

My son was playing with my phone and did the pattern wrong too many times. Now it wants me to log in with my google account but every time I try it says its wrong. I don't know what to do to get in but I really don't want to have reset it. I have a lot of pictures that would be lost

If you've forgotten your Google password, they offer this page for regaining access:

Your pictures may be on the MicroSD card if you have one. You could remove the card while resetting the phone to be sure they don't get deleted. While you're at ti, stick the card in a computer and back up the photos. Then once you're back in business, consider using a backup service...there's stuff like GCloud Backup (see link in my sig), and then there's Google's own photo synchronization.
