So my Fiance had her screen on her MAXX blackout on Friday and could not get it to come back on. She had 70% battery when this occurred. She could not get in touch with me so she took her Otterbox off in hopes of doing a battery pull. YES I DID tell her from the beginning that we could not do battery pulls, yet somehow in her frustration she forgot that. She managed to find the nearest Verizon store and took it in. The associate at the store told her to solve this problem that she needed to plug the phone into a charger and then hold the power button and both volume buttons down to do a hard reset. He also then told her this is a common issue with this device and that Verizon and Motorola are in works for a software update that could help fix this issue.
We both got our phones at the same time, highly likely from the same batch. I've NEVER had this issue. Also I informed her that she did not need to hit BOTH volume buttons OR plug it into a charger. I told her the lower volume button and the power button held for about 15 seconds would suffice.
SO MY QUESTION IS..... has anyone else had this black screen? Has anyone else hear about an update coming for this phone? We have had this phone for around 3 weeks. We got an update for the phone the day we activated it. So other then ICS i was not expecting an update.
