Help Lockscreen Backgrounds

I have searched high and low for someone to tell me how or IF I can change the background on my lockscreen! Every where that I've found doesn't address this issue in the Galaxy 5 Player. I can change my wallpaper just fine, but nowhere does it give me the option to change the LOCKSCREEN background. I hate that orange thingie that comes up when I turn it on!!! Can someone please tell me how to change it?

open up the picture/image that you want for the lockscreen and tap "menu" in the bottom right, then "more" in the bottom right, then "set as' in the list that pops up, then "lock screen wallpaper". you can set any image you want as the lock screen wallpaper this way. hope this helps.
 
OMG OMG OMG!!! It worked. I knew it had to be something simple, but I'm embarrassed that I never looked at the little more button. If you knew how many hours I have put into trying to do this, you would just roll over laughing. I can't thank you enough.....yaaaayyyyyy
 
your welcome, it feels good to help someone out as I have been helped out so many times on this site myself. a lot of times it is the simplest little thing that you just overlook.
 
One last thing, my name shows up on my Galaxy 7 lock screen, but not my Galaxy 5. Is there a way to have my name show up on it too? I know, picky picky!
 
I don't think that with gingerbread on the 5.0 you can do that (99.9% positive). I did just recently noticed on my tab 3 that you can write a greeting on the home screen and that is pretty cool. just one of the many improvements of jellybean. maybe you can use some kind of an app to write your name and save image and then use the image or something like that?
 
Samsung is not releasing any updates for the galaxy player line. they are basically a "dead" device, all but forgotten unfortunately.
 
Yep, it's sad that stuff that works really really well gets sidelined. The powers that be are trying to force everyone into buying new gadgets every year. Oh well, I still love this little thing. It plays movies and music really really great and it fits so nicely in my purse. I noticed that the prices of the new ones have really skyrocketed! Thanks again....I'm sure I'll be posting more as I "play" with this thing. I'm trying to change my notification tones now....hahahaha
