Lockscreen problem galaxy tab 6A

Dear friends- Im in trouble. Got my tablet a few days ago. Everything worked smoothly and it is synced and all. BUT during configuration I was asked about password. I did not want a password for my screen in addition to the simcode and was sure I chose no password. Then when it had gone to "sleep" the first time and I tried to access it I am asked for a password!? The dilemma is that I am unable to reconfigurate? or actually do anything at all (even turn it off!) without the password!! Now i would like to start the prosess all over but the trick ( hold both powerbutton and volume) does not work- maybe also because of the screenlock!? Safe to say Im frustrated and out of options. The Samsung customerservice are not responding-quite dissapointing.. Is there anyone out there familiar with this? Is there a solution or have I just bought a 300$ paperweight?

Yes, heres how to do it.

Turn it on, hold down the power button and the volume down button, once it powers on and u see the sam sing logo, let go of the power button But keep holding the power down button, this will make enter safe mode, from there u can delete the old account with the un know password, but i advise first you make a new user account for the device befor u do that tap on the bar when you pull it down where it says the name of the owner of the device, there will be guest account and make new account, tap add user and you can make a new user, then delete the old user, use the new one and re downlaod ur apps,,
