Yes I agree Stinky. In the digital age, there's no such thing as privacy. Anyone with sufficient know-how, or authority can retrieve any conceivable detail about your lifestyle and activities.
Look at all the information that people freely dump on Facebook to start with. It's all available somewhere. Google probably has the top spot on personal data compilation though.
My Mrs usually says "I've got nothing to hide, so I'm not bothered who's spying on me". That's a viewpoint I guess, but bear in mind that there's plenty of scope for abuse of this information. It happens all the time.

Man it's actually quite disturbing... :(

I have started to just be more and more private in a way these days...

Awesome but scary times we live in

Kind of like a double edged sword... or maybe more like a multi dimensional multi bladed bladded battle axe? :-D

Lol to fight off the evil space dragon! XD

Lol but seriously , think it's very disturbing when I see them spying on me like this hey... hmmm scary man...

I am glad I deleted facebook :-)

But I do believe the remains are still there... somewhere... hmmm... not good

Google tries to know everything about us.....

Yes I'm an expat, I'm often looking to book flights in China, and I am coming up to receiving my pension in a few years....however Google is still completely wrong about my location...GOOGLE! I'M NOT IN ROMANIA!!!...sheesh!!

...and no, I can't read Romanian!....

Google is obsessed I'm in Romania for many things...YouTube, Play Store, Ads, Maps....and it's been like that for months now.

It's very scary man I want to go onto a vpn to go completely off the radar.

I hate these people it's disgusting I se adverts for all kinds of things I search on the internet.

It's disturbing

Yeah, using a VPN is better right now. Not just because of the ads but because of the KRACK vulnerability that was discovered in WPA2 recently (That's if you use WiFi)...

I normally use an ad blocker. I also enable the "Send DO NOT TRACK requests" option in Opera. And, I've opted out of advertising from optout.aboutads.info , it seems that it can stop tracking of some services ( I found about it on Google's ad optout page). Also, I use Avira's browser plugin, it can block trackers even if the site ignores DO NOT TRACK requests... Till now, I've never seen personalized ads... I've never seen ads actually. Let me disable my ad blocker for a while and see what I get...

Hmmm, opting out is only designed to stop personalized ads. It will still collect some data. I have chosen it to not collect any data except for my YouTube history, because they give good recommendations.

So, I had a look at what kind of ads I got today:

Hmmm.... Never seached for something like that before...:thinking:

And another one: (I'm not sure if it's an ad. Do you guys also get this?)

Lol Google... Didn't you know that I installed this app long ago? From your very own play store!!!
:p

I'll do some further testing on the ads I get to see what happens next...

I remember a year ago when I was checking out the different iteration of Angry Birds(damn, there was a lot of Angry Birds, maybe they'll calm down if we stop going to KFC) before we went to our vacation for my younger brother to play, after installing a couple of them I hop into Youtube and I was hit with 3 consecutive Angry Birds ads and I was like, c'mon, where are they when I was looking for them?!

Man google is scary.... now they know I am trying hard to understand God and question if it is even there... they are watching my every move...

How do I go completely off the radar??

I have heard of using the Tor Browser - is it flawless?

I don't want to be spied upon any more it's actually disgusting... it is creeeeeeeeepy as heck.... very scary times
