Lollipop 5.1 update

Ever seen the episode of the Office when Micheal told someone that Stanley was having an affair, so he tried to cover it up by making up rumors about everyone else in the office? The Android rumor websites work similarly, except the original rumor was also made up. Someone writes a story or posts a picture, then everyone jumps on it and embellishes for clickbait.

The next update will arrive when it's in the images website and Google probably doesn't even know when that is.

It could arrive anytime. Considering that Android One devices run 5.1 already, I don't think there's going to be a long wait. My prediction is by the end of the month.

It does seem like we're getting close - this bug report indicates that "api 22 has the fix and it is on the way to release", the timestamp on T-Mobile's support docs was recently modified as well as the timestamp on the factory images page - and don't forget that the Verizon N6 is set to launch on 3/12 with 5.1 in tow.

I don't know if we'll be seeing OTAs immediately, but I would wager for factory images by the end of the week.

Update: T-Mobile seems to think the N4 (at least) will start getting it today: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5034

Update to the Update: N5 is on the list too: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-9579
