Help Lollipop OTA Update Confusion!!!

I have an unlocked Galaxy Note 3 LTE N9005 and its from Hong Kong. My network is T Mobile. I have been trying to figure out if I will get the OTA update with T Mobile's Lollipop release or will I have to wait until the release comes for the Hong Kong version??

My build number is N9005ZHUENJ1

The N9005 is not the T-Mobile version. It doesn't even have T-Mobile LTE bands 2, 4 and 12.

So...for one thing, a OTA update from T-Mobile would load incorrect firmware, and for another thing, T-Mobile is unaware that the phone should be updated.

Okay, I see. Thanks for explaining. Could you explain to me is a T-Mobile LTE band? Haven't heard of that before.

LTE refers to 4G mobile data service, the fastest mobile data service currently available. T-Mobile uses Bands 2, 4 and in some areas Band 12. The band numbers refer to the frequencies used.

Band 2 is 1900MHz
Band 4 is 1700/2100MHz
Band 12 is 700MHz

I don't know for sure if you will get the OTA update from China, but I doubt it.

Alright, thanks again. I may do further research about LTE and Bands....

In the case that I do not receive the OTA update from China, I could just connect my phone to Kies and I should be able to update it that way right?

Ok. Well then to update to Lollipop (say Kies doesn't work), would you suggest flashing it through Odin once the firmware becomes available to my version of the phone? (the Hong Kong build number).

Probably would be best to ask that question in the Note 3 section of the forum so you get a more expert answer from someone familiar with your device.
