This drain on my battery is ridiculous. I can drop from 100% to 80% or less with little to no usage. Before my battery would last at least from morning to 4 or 5 pm depending on usage. Any word on this? S5 has been locking down, getting messages that contacts have stopped...etc. what's up? Any fixes?

Help Lollipop update killing my battery!

If you updated from KitKat, then a factory data reset is probably required. Be sure to backup anything you care about first though, as the reset will also reset game scores, app configurations, etc. (Google apps are backed up automatically unless you have specifically disabled it from doing so).
If you updated from a previous version of Lollipop, then boot to Recovery, wipe cache, and then reboot. If that doesn't do it, then you probably have one or more apps that are not fully compatible with Lollipop yet.
