Hi Guys!
Although I have been on the site for a couple weeks, I just now realized that I never made an official introduction!
So Hello!
Myself.. I came to Android from Blackberry. I have been a Blackberry guy for the last 3 years. In all actuality, I got my whole family into the BB world. Now that I finally got my first Droid about 2.5 weeks ago (Sammy Stratosphere) I keep kicking myself for not doing Android a long time ago. I cannot believe just how great the whole OS is and I love everything about it.
I am currently working on my Ph.D in Astrophysics and I still have a couple years to go. I am married with 3 kids and 2 cats and a dog. Love my dog, she is a 1 year old Boxer and for anyone who does not know, Boxers are absolutely great breeds and awesome family dogs. You wouldn't think it, but they are. I have never seen a dog want to cuddle with people so much until we got her.
Let's see... I have into computers since I ran a BBS on my Commodore 64 back in the day. For those who don't know, a BBS is a Bulletin Board System and was essentially the Internet before the Internet. They were a collection of Message boards, chats boards and file sharing sites. Each BBS had all those functions and you would use your dial up modem to connect to whichever one you wanted. Right now I run a blog called Diverse By Design which I ended up making my alias here. My actual name is ssjTiamat. I have used that alias/handle for over 20 years!
Anyway... I have found a good amount of information on this site and a couple others, but I still have a ways to go. I am trying to get familiar with the Android system and having the computer background does help, but there seems to be a learning curve with this system too. I have faith that with the help of this site and the wonderful members I will get there.
