Help Looking for a low cost Internet wifi hotspot hub/device, to use with my Nexus 7 tablet

Well folks, I'm not rich, but I have an Nexus 7 tablet from my son. I would like to connect it to Internet in my apartment, but alas, my funds are minimal, as I am retired on a very fixed income. I have seen advertisements for FreedomPop, et al, but I am looking for something where I can buy the puck/dongle that I can keep. Also, if it is interchangeable with varying service providers, more power to it! I wish to spend monthly roughly $15-$25, but if I need to do more, then please tell me. I appreciate all responses, and feedback. THANKS!! Bobby:)

I can tell you the device you're looking for is called a "MiFi". You insert a SIM that has data, and works as a WiFi hotspot. I guess you're in the US, so it could be carrier specific and the carrier has to supply it, e.g. Verizon. A CDMA/EV-DO or GSM/HSDPA MiFi. If you're in the EU, all cellular technology is the same, just buy the MiFi, and insert data SIM you like in it.

Thank you, Mike. Yes, I am in the USA... California, specifically. I had read on Kofi, but was uncertain. Will keep checking it out, though. Again, thanks! :)
