Looking for a phone (rogers)

Hey all,

I got unrooted having a dream on rogers and i'm not into waiting for a large company to support my phone when I can do it myself. Now I'm looking for a new phone, just wondering what options are out there.

My only requirement is that it's got to be rootable, or atleast allow me to update my own rom.

HTC Hero seems to be good for rooting, not had much experience of it myself, but if you pop over to the HTC Hero - Android Forums

They have the a root forum there.

Isn't the SE Xperia X10 coming to Rogers? If so, that'd be your best bet, though I'm not sure how rootable that one will be (and it comes with Android 1.6, at that).

Otherwise, I guess you're limited to the HTC Magic+ and Samsung Galaxy Spica, but I'd imagine the Magic+ has more of a developer community around it, being a HTC product and all.
