Looking for a Sleeve to block signal

A bit bizarre I know, but.

My employer is looking at banning mobile phones from site and installing detectors to catch people out.

On that basis, does anyone know of a Sleeve that I can take my phone to work that will enable it to be undetected? I.e a signal blocker?

Also, is it possible to detect a mobile phone that is switched off? I know airplane mode will stop cellular and WiFi signals but apparently the phones are still detectable.

Any help and or advice would be appreciated

Is it really so important to have your phone that you will risk getting fired?
The company must have a reason for banning them.

Being fired isn't am option, they are just really clamping down.
A 12 hour night shift can be endless without a phone!

I don't necessarily assume there are or are not good reasons (I've no knowledge in this case, but don't automatically give employers the benefit of the doubt). But the point about considering the possible implications of defying the edict should be considered.

As for how to beat it, tell us how the detector works and we can hazard a guess. An active scanner might pick it up regardless (e.g. a terahertz scanner certainly would, but would be costly), whereas something passively listening for emissions obviously can't find a phone that's off and hence not even got a cpu clock running.

Actually the detectors are in the form of hand held wands that the security team will use. There will also be other detectors at the entrance to sensitive plant (I work on a nuclear power station).
So using my phone at my desk won't be an issue, just getting it through the turnstiles is the problem

And you think these wands are specific, very sensitive phone detectors and not just simple metal detectors? Because that would be the cheapest way of doing this, and for that it would not matter whether the phone was on, in airplane mode or off (and a metal sleeve would not help at all).

The wands are specific signal detectors and not just metal detectors. The hand held wands will be used for random checks, whereas the other detectors will almost be hidden walk through detectors.
I won't be subject to the random wand checks as I'm a member of the security team, unfortunately the changes are being brought in by the IT depth who aren't forthcoming with info, hence my original question
