Looking for an Android Beer Rating App

I switched from a lumia 822 to note 3 and couldn't find as good an app for beer showing abv, calories and carbs. Couldn't believe it given so many more android apps!
 
Great! That app is perfect! When i first got the phone I typed in "beer abv" and very few apps came up with that in their title. If this one came up, i may have been misled by the name and thought it was just a rating app. Thanks for the link!
 
BeerAdvocate is pretty much the standard. Any beer snob should have it on their phone! :)

RateBeer is certainly also good to have.
 
BeerAdvocate app is new and pretty poorly written, but has the most information and ratings since the site is huge.

I've been using untappd to keep track of beers I've had. Much nicer looking app.

Ratebeer seems to have good info, but no tracking? Or do I need to login to do tracking?
 
Great! Will download Beer Advocate, too.

My favorite beer is Pyramid Apricot Ale. Unfortunately it's not available within 50 miles of my house. It's just slightly flavored and not sweet at all. I like the subtle fruit flavor. Need to pick a new favorite, I guess.

What beer do you guys prefer?
 
I've had a couple of blood orange ales lately that have been real good. Great South Bay brewery is a local brewery that does one so it's readily available for me.
 
Oooh! Blood orange ale sounds fantastic! Wish I lived closer to that brewery! /jealous

Might have more luck with Odell IPA. In Cleveland had a great IPA from Fathead's Saloon that had a sort of grapefruity smell. Loved it.

Hmmm, I'm all for rating beer (and being a Brit we have REAL beer over here .... :D ) but the idea of worrying about the number of calories in it is a bit of an oxymoron, don't you think ....?

Yes I guess that's true. Went through a phase where I looked for lowest calorie/carb to abv ratio. That got me Bud Platinum, which I quit drinking very quickly.

Quit drinking Lindeman lambics after discovering the abv was so incredibly low. I want at least a little effect from drinking a beer!

Been on a diet since January 2nd, so need to record calories currently.

Still, if I could find Pyramid Apricot Ale, I wouldn't care about the calories. Had Southern Season in Chapel Hill order a case for me once but when I tried a second time, it was a big hassle and they never did call me to pick it up.

Nope. Don't bother with that. Just eat less, cut down drastically/cut out grains and sugars and eat food that's been processed as little as possible. The 'grains and sugars' bit sorta says 'no' to beer but as long as you don't exceed 5 or 6 pints a night you should be fine ..... :D

Have cut back significantly on calories. Two meals a day with no snacks. One meal a day on Saturdays when I drink a couple beers. I'm not always perfect but all things in moderation!

Both those beers look fantastic! Love the color and the bottles. Wish I lived in England!

I'm very much a hophead. And I love grapefruit! Odell is probably my current favorite. That or Dogfish Head 60 or 90 Minute. Both are great in their own right. Lagunitas IPA and Deschutes Fresh Squeezed are also fan-freaking-tastic. The Fresh Squeezed is different. Has a very sweet and, well, freshly squeezed taste. Delightful. Haha.

I have a kegerator. Just ordered a 1/2 keg of New Belgium Ranger. Not as high in the IBUs, but it's a great beer. Kind of a session Double IPA.

And as arkady said, have a great holiday!!
 
Think odell, dogfish head and lagunitas are sold around here. Can't wait to try them. The Deschutes not sure though it sounds excellent.

Been having trouble sleeping lately so havent been in the mood to drink. May be a while before I get to try any but will definitely post when I do. Thanks so much for the recommendations!
